FAMILY + PORTRAITS

FLEETING MOMENTS, PAUSED IN TIME.

Family is fleeting. These seasons pass quietly and all at once. My approach to family and portrait photography is centered on presence, connection, and the small, honest moments in between. Less posing, more being. Images that feel lived-in, emotional, and true to you.

Hey, I'm Abigail

I photograph families by paying attention to what’s already there. The way people gather, the small routines, the quiet moments that often go unnoticed. My approach is documentary with a loose editorial eye, allowing things to unfold naturally while offering gentle direction when it’s helpful. The result is imagery that feels lived-in, honest, and reflective of this season of life as it truly is.

What feels ordinary now often becomes priceless later.

STEP 1

Spend a little time exploring the family page. And more if you're feeling adventurous.   Notice what feels familiar, what feels honest, what feels like the way you want your family remembered in this season of time. There’s no pressure to have it all figured out, just the simple urge to capture this moment in time.

STEP 2

When it feels like a good fit, head to the contact page and reach out. The inquiry form gives me a sense of who you are, what you’re hoping for, and the season of life you’re in. From there, I’ll follow up personally to talk through next steps, schedule a call and see if we’re a good match.

THE PROCESS

STEP 3

We’ll set up a call to talk through your session. Discuss what matters most to you, how you want it to feel, and any questions you might have. We’ll choose a date together, talk through the details, and make a plan that feels easy and natural and like it will capture the vision you have for these memories.

STEP 4

This is the easy part. You show up as you are, well, maybe in your best family photo outfits,  and I’ll guide things gently as we go. There’s room for movement, connection, and a little unpredictability, or what I like to call it - the good stuff. No pressure to perform. Just time together, documented with care. Hopefully at the end of it all, you feel it was fun too.

Testimonials

Maria + Shahbaz

We have had Abigail now shoot our wedding in 2021, our maternity shoot in 2023, and three sets of photos with our toddler (newborn, year 1, and year 2). We love them so much...Abby is so patient, especially with wrangling a squirmy toddler. We've now known her for almost five years and she's been with our little family since day 1. We would never choose another photographer!

FAQ

What should we wear?

I have two rules: you don’t need to match, and let your personalities shine. The thing that helps photographs really sing is when everything feels somewhat coordinated, even if that coordination leans a little chaotic. I love neutrals, but I also love color, pattern, and texture. Wear things you actually love that also work together visually.

I’m always happy to bounce around ideas with you.

What if my kids don't cooperate?

They don’t have to. The best images usually come from letting kids be themselves while I gently guide the rhythm of the session. There’s no expectation of perfect behavior, in fact, the off-center moments often make for the most fun to capture. Plus, I always pack my patience ;)

Where do the photo sessions take place?

Sessions can happen at home or in a meaningful outdoor location. I’m happy to suggest places that photograph beautifully while still feeling like you. A studio is an additional great option. Some additional fees may apply depending on your session type.

What if the weather doesn't look good?

I keep a close eye on the forecast leading up to your session. If weather would genuinely interfere with the experience or the photographs, we’ll shift to a better time.
