I want to take you back to a stunning summer day in The Berkshires.
Chris is gearing up to pop the question and thanks to a friends wedding, they have found themselves in her hometown of Stockbridge. Seizing the perfect moment, Chris decided this trip would be the best backdrop for the big question. Lucky for me, he wanted me to capture it all!
As a couple, one of their cherished date spots was the porch of the Red Lion Inn. Picture this: favorite drinks in hand, they'd soak in the summer buzz of this quaint small town, learning about each other and dreaming of their future. Now, if you're familiar with the Red Lion Inn Porch, you know it's quintessentially Berkshires – a scene straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting in the summertime.
Here's the twist – I had previously photographed Jordan's sister's proposal a year ago. So, Jordan already knew who I was and what I did 📸. The challenge? How do I conceal myself with camera in hand on this bustling porch AND be ready to capture Chris' big moment? Unlike previous proposals with convenient trees or rocks for cover, this one required some serious creativity. Luckily, I convinced some fantastic friends to dress up and join me as undercover porch enthusiasts. Arriving early, I ordered a mocktail and anxiously waited, although I'm sure my heart wasn't racing nearly as fast as Chris's, pretending to be casually hanging with friends.
When Jordan walked in to meet Chris, she whispered to him, "look, it's my sister's photographer." Thankfully, she didn't seem to suspect a thing.
Chris gave the signal, and in a blink, he was down on one knee, Jordan was in tears, and I was primed with the camera. Jordan and Chris agreed to spend their lives together on the porch that helped build the foundation of their love.
After a heartfelt toast, we strolled to a nearby park for more photos. Along the trails, Jordan guided Chris to a bench overlooking the river and the town. This was the very bench where Jordan, her sisters, and girlfriends would dream about this very day – who it would be with and how it would feel. Bringing Chris to this special place was full circle for Jordan, and a magical moment to capture.
Fast forward to 2023, Jordan and Chris tied the knot at Gedney Farm, and I can't wait to share more details of their enchanting love story with you! Stay tuned!
